Thomas Wiese is the Founder and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of NA² (Nordic Association for Nuclear Acceleration). In this role, he leads the technical investigation and conceptual planning for a potential new Nordic nuclear research infrastructure at the Studsvik site in Sweden. He has 20 years of technical and operational experience in the international nuclear sector, with a strong focus on fuel services, infrastructure planning, and regional nuclear development.
In addition to his work at NA², Thomas serves as Vice President of the European Nuclear Society (ENS), having joined its Board of Directors in December 2024. In parallel, he is the New Business representative for the Fuel Business Unit at Framatome AB, providing cross-functional operational support and project execution across the Nordic region.
Prior to his current focus in the Nordic region, Thomas spent nearly two decades at Framatome GmbH (and its predecessor AREVA NP) in Germany. He held various technical and managerial positions, culminating in his role as Head of Fuel Services Germany, where he had full operational and project responsibility for international equipment supplies, maintenance, and complex field service campaigns. Earlier in his career, he managed the design and on-site implementation of specialized nuclear fuel service equipment and worked as a project engineer for nuclear fuel reloads. He is also the founder of Ampower Science and Engineering GmbH, specializing in plasma process diagnostics.
Thomas holds a Diploma Degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in Engineering and Design from the University of Rostock, Germany.
