Portoroz, 16. to 19. September 1996
Nuclear Society of Slovenia is organising its traditional scientific meeting on nuclear energy in Central Europe. This will be already the third conference of that type. It is cosponsored by European Nuclear Society and Jozef Stefan Institute. The primary objective of the meeting is fostering of cooperation in the field of nuclear energy.
This year the meeting will also host the 3rd COSYMA User's Group Meeting. The European COSYMA program package was developed for assessing the off-site consequences of accidental releases of radioactive material to the atmosphere. The COSYMA meeting is organised together with the "Jozef Stefan" Institute from Ljubljana.
Language of the meeting is English. There will be no translation to any other language.

Authors are invited to submit extended abstracts of the paper, not longer than 2 pages to the organizer before the May 1st, 1996.

Each participant will receive a copy of all extended abstracts at the conference. Preview could be done through the Internet Home Page. The peer review of all presented full papers will be performed after the conference. All accepted papers will be printed in the Proceedings with an ISBN number and sent to all participants. All papers will also be available through this Internet Home Page.
The conference fee will be 30.000 SIT (cca. 200 ECU) for ENS members and 35.000 SIT for non-members of the ENS. Students will have reduced fee 15.000/20.000 SIT

By air
Portoroz is located 122 km from Ljubljana, Slovenia's capitaland 150 km from the International Airport of Ljubljana-Brnik.Among others, the airport has regular connections with Frankfurt,London, Moscow, Munich, Paris, Rome, Vienna and Zürich.
By train
Slovenia is located at the crossing of main railway lines, connectingit to the whole of Europe. Some daily EC, IC and EXP connections:
Four times per day there is a train from Ljubljana to Koper whichis a town 10 km away from Portoroz. There is also a frequent Ljubljana- Portoroz bus connection.
By car
A green card (international vehicle insurance) must be carriedby all foreign drivers on their entry into Slovenia, with theexception of those from countries with which Slovenia has a specialagreement. Foreign citizens without a green card may obtain short-terminsurance in Slovenia.
The organiser has booked sufficient number of rooms in hotelsat Bernardin. Participants will have to make their reservationsdirectly to the hotel. The information about the price and a reservationform will be send in the second announcement.
Portoroz is a tourist resort at the Adriatic Coast. Septemberis one of the most pleasant months for a stay there and offersseveral possibilities for active recreation:
swimming, hiking, neighbouring historic city of Piran, casinó,tennis, yachting ...
During the conference a special trip will be organised to thetourist attractions in the vicinity: Lipica stables or Postojnacaves.
A welcome dinner for all participants will be included in theconference fee.
